The gospel of Jesus Christ is at the core of our beliefs. We are a community of Christ followers committed to making disciples who love Jesus and love others for the glory of God.

 OUR BELIEFS

  • There is only one true living God, existing in three distinct persons: The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. He is all knowing, all powerful, and all present, revealing himself through creation, Scripture, and Jesus Christ. (Matt 28:18-20; Gen 18:14; Is 40:28; Jer. 23:23-24)

  • The Scriptures, all 66 books of the Old and New Testaments, are inspired by God and without error in their original writings. They provide supreme and final authority in faith and guidance in life. (2 Tim. 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:19-21)

  • Jesus, the son of God, came to earth in flesh. He was fully God and fully man and lived a sinless life. Though he was perfect, he humbly sacrificed himself for the forgiveness of our sin. Defeating death, He rose from the grave, and is seated at the right hand of God the Father. (John 1:14, Phil. 2:5-11, Eph. 1:19-23)

  • The Holy Spirit is God’s voice of love and discernment in the lives of humanity, empowering and enabling people to be transformed into the likeness of Christ. (John 14:26; Gal 5:22-26)

  • God created the entire universe from nothing. With majesty and power, he brought the world into full existence and sustains it by His mighty hand (Col. 1:16-17).

  • God created humanity to reflect His dignity and worth. He set us apart to abide in His love and glorify him in how we live. He designed man and woman to complement one another equally as they actively contribute to family, church, and civic life. (Gen. 1:26-27)

  • Though humanity was created in the perfect image of God, the choice to disobey His commands invited sin into the world and broke humanity’s connection to God (Rom. 5:12, 6:23)

  • Jesus demonstrated His unconditional love for us through his sacrificial death and resurrection. He paid the penalty for our sin on the cross, restoring us to a right relationship with God. It is by grace through faith in Him that we are saved and transformed by the Holy Spirit (Eph. 2:3-9, 2 Cor. 5:17- 21)

  • The Church is the fellowship of committed Christ followers, called to share in worship, prayer, teaching of the Word, and proclaiming the gospel. The body of Christ are united in symbolic ordinances, such as water baptism, the visual demonstration of one’s transformation in Christ, from death to life (Matt.28:18-20); and the Lord’s supper, the act of remembering Christ’s sacrifice on the cross for the forgiveness of our sins (I Cor.11:23-26).
